The Willie Mullins trained Apt Approach made it a winning season debut when winning The Easter Festival Maiden Hurdle in great style under Ruby Walsh in the colours of the Greenstar Syndicate. Wed 04th Mar
He was suited by conditions. I think he has only had two runs over hurdles and we will keep him over hurdles now if we can. We will try and find another conditions race for him next.

He must be a fair horse to win after making a mistake like that, and he's certainly improving. It's very hard to find a race for him, and he's too high now for handicaps, so he'll either go for the Ryanair Chase or the Gold Cup. Maybe the Red Mills Chase at Gowran Park next month could be an option before Cheltenham.

We'll try and find a winners of one after the New Year for him,. We'll try and let him learn his trade without taking on the big guns. His jumping leaves a lot to be desired but he will improve.

I actually missed the race as I was late arriving but Ruby [Walsh] said he was very happy with him and you wouldn't even know it was soft ground on him as he handled it so well. We'll probably bring him back for a quick run and then go for the 2 ¿ mile Grade 2 Novice here at the Festival.
