A genuine Grade 1 horse in his prime, the Gordon Elliott-trained six-year-old has run with credit in decent handicaps under both codes in recent times. Fit from the Flat, the New Approach gelding should take beating. Aspire Tower, who would have had a similar level of ability to the selection at his best, was off the track for almost three years prior to making his return last October. Although not the force of old, the gelding looks the main threat. Course winner Eagle Fang has plenty to do at these weights but might be capable of getting involved for minor honours.
