FormscanBy John O'Riordan - Naas runner-up SUNDAY SOVEREIGN can gain a first success for trainer George Kingston. A five-time career winner, the seven-year-old ran his best race since joining present connections when staying on well for minor honours last time. While there is a slight concern that 5f might be on the sharp side at this stage of his life, the gelding is likely to benefit from arriving late from off a fast pace. Devil's Angel, who kept on well when fifth at Fairyhouse last month, should be involved if handling the forecast soft ground. Kevin Coleman's gelding has yet to prove he acts with an ease although he has had few opportunities to do so. Handicap debutant Pink Oxalis was due to run at Cork on Monday but would be of interest if making a quick reappearance.
An extended handicap for three years old and upwards rated 47-65Penalties - (after calculation of the handicap) A winner shall carry 7lb extra for each race won.
