Gentleman De Mee was beaten 41 lengths then but blundered at halfway and is better judged on his Aintree defeat of high-class Edwardstone last April, and can chase home the selection. Dunvegan finished second in last year's renewal and ran well in a recent handicap but was three lengths behind Gentleman De Mee in December's Tingle Creek. Sceau Royal showed high-class chase form last spring but his only Grade 1 success was in 2017 and is now 11. Fastorslow won a 2019 chase so is difficult to place, and with his hurdles' rating seemingly kept in waiting, runs in an unsuitable race.
