FormscanBy Gary Carson - Former course and distance winner PAT COYNE may prove the pick here after a couple of decent runs this summer. The grey won a beginners chase at the August meeting last year and has been fairly consistent since. He did well to be runner-up at Downpatrick on his last outing over fences, when badly hampered early on, and looks better over the larger obstacles. A few of these have winning form at the track and Groveman, who won on the Flat here last year, looks a danger after a decent run to finish third over fences on his last outing at Limerick. Quirt Evans is a dual course winner and is interesting on his first outing in handicap company over fences. He has a 10lb lower mark over fences compared to his hurdles rating.
An extended handicap steeplechase for five years old and upwards (123 = 11st 12lbs)Penalties - Winner of a steeplechase after calculation of the handicap shall carry 7lb extra for each steeplechase won.
