FormscanBy Eamonn Murphy - Gigginstown House Stud and J P McManus have four runners apiece, whilst Chris Jones goes with Ordinary World and Mitchouka. Like these owners there are trainers with multiple representation as well, with Henry de Bromhead sending out five, Joseph O’Brien three, Gordon Elliott three (and a reserve), Jessica Harrington two and Willie Mullins two. The last named may provide the answer to a difficult looking puzzle as Closutton’s PONT AVEN makes some appeal in a first-time hood. Danny Mullins’ mount has been showing up well in similar events, and if he had relaxed through the race he’d likely have finished off better than he did at Fairyhouse last month, when eventually second to Daly Tiger. Previous to that Pont Aven had been a big eye-catcher when fourth here at Christmas. Mullins’ nephew Emmet has a strong contender in Greatwood Hurdle hero, and first time handicap chase participant, The Shunter. Keep the likes of Entoucas, Epson Du Houx and Aramax in mind as well.
