FormscanBy John O'Riordan - Although her career record of just one success from 20 runs doesn't inspire confidence, RAIN has been threatening to win a race such as this for some time. Unlucky in running when third at Navan last October, the James Barcoe-trained mare has run consistently in three starts since her reappearance in April. Often the victim of a poor draw, the five-year-old finds herself just three off the rail here. Runner-up here on her penultimate start last October, Narlita made a pleasing return when sixth in stronger company at Sligo recently. If staying this longer trip the Harry Rogers-trained mare must be a serious contender. Third in the corresponding race last year, Luminous Light is likely to have been aimed at a repeat bid. He, too, can get involved at the business end.
