FormscanBy Alan Magee - AURORA NOVA showed a really smart turn of foot to beat the in-form Eruption in a 17-runner Fairyhouse handicap last week and may follow up despite racing off a 14lb higher mark. The daughter of Holy Roman Emperor was placed twice in maidens over course and distance earlier in her career and shouldn’t be inconvenienced by the return to the minimum trip. Beatrix Power has progressed nicely in three maiden starts and looks a threat on her handicap debut having shown good pace at the Curragh last time, while Greek Flower was just denied in this race last year but has more on her plate now having scored twice with cut in the ground last autumn. She’s Quality won a valuable Newbury maiden last year and has returned in good form including when second in the Listed Polonia Stakes at Cork.
An extended handicap for three years old and upwards fillies only that are EBF eligible (90 = 10st)Penalties - (after calculation of the handicap) A winner shall carry 7lb extra for each race won.
