FormscanBy Donal Murphy - APPLE OF HIS EYE might be able to take this weak contest. The Dick Brabazon trained filly has some decent form to her name, finishing seventh in a twenty-two-runner contest at the Curragh on her most recent start. Alessandro Algardi and Princess Plumeria were fourth and fifth in that Curragh heat and they have given the form a boost by winning since. Spilt Passion is without a win in eleven starts but she has finished in the first three six times. She was beaten by just a head over the course and distance last December and finished a respectable fifth in a competitive handicap at the venue last Friday. New Moon Rising was disappointing at Gowran on her most recent effort, but she should be able to make her presence felt in a contest of this quality. Knight Of Malta has filled the runner-up spot on his last two outings and while he is sure to have supporters, he is without a win in twenty-two starts. Alqabeela was second on debut at Leopardstown last year and she warrants respect, while Captain Attridge is another leading contender.
