Exciting-recruit Prengarde needs prep run Enda Bolger is scouring the fixture list to get a run under Prengarde's belt before a potential crack at the Glenfarclas Chase at the Cheltenham Festival. JP McManus' recruit was a prolific winner in the cross-country discipline in his native France and has recently switched to Bolger's stable. “He's good but we're only just learning and getting to know him," the trainer said. “We're trying to think of somewhere where we can get a race into him as he hasn't run since November. “He's only six as well and whether he gets there (Cheltenham) or not I don't know at the moment. We're taking it day by day but we have two good subs anyway (Shady Operator and Midnight Maestro).” Asked if he could go straight to Cheltenham he added: “No definitely not, he'd get too tired. “He was only five when he had everything done in France, we don't have to teach him to jump or anything as he's very professional about that. “We'll see what's going to happen in the next ten days or so.” Prengarde disputes favouritism with last year's winner Tiger Roll in the ante-post market. Bolger landed this blue-riband cross-country chase in 2016 with Josies Orders. The trainer also revealed that he won't have any representatives in the St. James's Place Festival Challenge Cup Open Hunters' Chase - a race he has won with On The Fringe and Elegant Lord in the past. “We have nothing for the Foxhunters this year, you need to have a good one going there and we just don't have him this year," he said.
