Diol Ker to get Stayers Hurdle entry Trainer Noel Meade will look for a conditions hurdle for his Christmas Hurdle withdrawal Sixshooter, who was a non-runner over the Christmas period having had a temperature. Sixshooter returned in good form this season winning at Punchestown before finishing third to Sire De Berlais in the Lismullen Hurdle at Navan. Meade reported “he (Sixshooter) had a blood disorder and a temperature. He’s not alone as a few of ours have had that so we couldn’t run him. “We’ll see how he comes out it and maybe look for a conditions hurdle later in January.” Meade, who had four winners over Christmas, bagged a winner at Limerick with Gigginstown House Stud owned Diol Ker, who switched back from three unsuccessful attempts over fences to win over hurdles. Meade says “Diol Ker will stay over hurdles and will be entered in the Stayers Hurdle. I’m not saying he’s that good yet but he’ll get an entry. “He’ll have another run maybe in Gowran (Galmoy Hurdle) or Navan (Boyne Hurdle).”
