Hannah Phillips guided the Paul Nolan trained Rose Boum to a first career win when staying on strongly to take the INHSC Congratulate Pandora Briselden Ladies Handicap Hurdle at Punchestown.

Runner-up on her most recent start at Wexford, the five-year-old was backed into 10/3jf to go one place better this afternoon.

Her task was made that much easier very early on, as fellow market leader Queenofthelodge exited at the first flight.

Always prominent under Phillips, Rose Boum was pushed along to head Your Honor entering the home straight. Locked Box tried to go with the eventual winner but had no more to offer early on the run-in.

Both Divilabother and Warm In Gorey stayed on late to fill the minor placings but Rose Boum held on well for a half-length success.

Hannah Phillips, riding her second winner under Rules, said: “Thanks to Ken Whelan for helping me to get the ride as I rang him and told him I’d no ride in the race.

“Paul’s horses are flying at the moment and she had a very good run behind Lilian Bland in Wexford and got a lot of confidence off that run.

“We went a nice even gallop, and she jumped like a buck. I was hoping the line would come and Caragh (Monaghan) got very close to me.”
