Tony Martin's smart jumper Bog Warrior collared the front-running Baily Green to land a gutsy success in the feature Webster Cup Chase at Navan.
Baily Green, sent off the 6-4 favourite after falling when still going well in the Queen Mother Champion Chase at Cheltenham last time, put in a series of spectacular leaps and looked to be travelling best as they turned for home.
But his stride shortened going to the final fence and Bog Warrior, who had quietly been kept on the premises by Paul Carberry, grabbed the lead at the obstacle before staying on strongly to score by three lengths.
Davy Russell had no luck on the disappointing Roi Du Mee in the main event, but he grabbed a double on the card, completed when Mozoltov struck in the navanracecourse.ie Novice Chase.
Willie Mullins' 4-7 favourite, who came down at the first fence at the Cheltenham Festival on his last start, was always towards the head of affairs and the jockey remained motionless heading to the second-last.< Irish Thistle chased him gamely and almost drew alongside at the last, but Mozoltov had more in the tank and held him at bay by two lengths.
Russell got his first winner when Baby King (33-1) produced a pulsating finish to edge out odds-on favourite Emperor Of Exmoor in the Annual Family Day 18th May Maiden Hurdle, getting up in the dying strides to record a nose success.
Robert Tyner's 6-4 favourite Knock Beauty joined the lead at the second-last before forging clear under Ger Fox to complete a hat-trick in the Follow Navan On Facebook Handicap Chase, winning by seven and a half lengths.< Whisper Rock justified 8-11 favouritism in the INH Stallion Owners EBF Mares Maiden Hurdle, but had to be driven out by Kevin Power for a half-length success, while Green Energy (7-1) finished with a real rattle under Andrew Thornton to take the Follow Navan On Twitter Handicap Hurdle by a length and a half.
