Stable jockey Johnny Murtagh made a rare wrong decision as Snow Mountain led home a one-two for trainer Aidan O'Brien at Limerick.
The Ballydoyle handler fielded two in the Irish Daily Mirror EBF Maiden with Murtagh opting to pilot 1-2 favourite Sydney Harbour
Colm O'Donoghue duly got the leg up on Snow Mountain (3-1) and he executed a perfectly-judged front-running ride to hold his late-finishing stablemate by half a length at the line.
"He had the experience of two runs and got it easy in front," said O'Donoghue.
"He's a tall horse and is still growing but he is improving all the time."
Trainer Kevin Prendergast and rider Chris Hayes were in double form at the venue with 5-2 favourite Obligada running out a head winner of the opening Irish Stallion Farms EBF Median Auction Fillies Maiden.< Brazilian Beauty (4-1) followed up for the pair as she finally got a win on the board at the sixth time of asking in the Loughwood.net Creosote Fencing Maiden.
Hayes said of the latter: "She just didn't handle Tramore the last day and our horses were sick when she ran at Gowran.
"She's not ungenuine but we put the blinkers on today as she was coming back in trip. She's a nice filly."< Cinnin Oir (9-1) was produced with a well-timed run by Fran Berry to claim the Limerick GAA Handicap by half a length from One Of Three
"The step up in trip from five furlongs suited and Fran said she could go seven," said winning trainer John Geoghegan.
"She can be free and needs a good gallop to settle. That's her grade and hopefully she should win again."< Ceannline (7-2 joint-favourite) showed plenty of guts for Kevin Manning to cling on for glory in the Irish Stallion Farms EBF Fillies Handicap.
The Jim Bolger-trained filly kicked for home two furlongs out and dug deep to repel the challenges of Musical Rain and Sugar Baby Love by a head and a neck.
