< Baily View sprung a surprise when getting the better of hot favourite Powerstation in the Bank Of Ireland Business & Retail Hurdle at Down Royal.
The latter was sent off the 4-7 market-leader to enhance his World Hurdle claims and although he travelled well into the straight, Baily View (10-1) tackled him at the final flight before going away to score by three lengths.
Powerstation's trainer Eamonn O'Connell said: "The horse will go straight to the World Hurdle now and the ground was the main factor in his defeat."< Chevalier Country got off the mark over obstacles with victory in the Bank Of Ireland Business Banking Maiden Hurdle.
The 3-1 chance kept on strongly in the hands of David Casey to take the prize by a length from Colleoni delighting his trainer Jim Gorman.
"We ran him and Ready To Rocknroll in a Grade One at Christmas and got a bit of stick from one or two journalists for doing so but it was the right choice as both have now won since," said Gorman.
"He was the classiest Flat horse in this race and so long as he jumped well, I was fairly confident that he'd win.
"He's in the Triumph and he'll have an entry in the Fred Winter as well but we'll see how he improves."< Paradis De Thaix foiled favourite-backers in the Bank Of Ireland Global Markets Maiden Hurdle when getting on top close home.
Even-money favourite Judge Roy Bean looked to have landed the prize when kicking away from his rivals, but the Jessica Harrington-trained winner reeled him in to score by half a length.
Harrington's representative Eamonn Leigh said: "He is tough and stays at it. Hopefully he will turn into a chaser some day."
There was drama in the Premier Sports Management INH Flat Race as 5-4 favourite Ballymak ran out a fortunate winner.
Gordon Elliott's charge was being shoved along in the straight as Milanette and Last Draw appeared to have it between them.
However, after a barging match, both horses went through a rail on the side of the track with the latter unseating his rider.
This left Ballymak to come through
