Review clonmel 31st May Even-money favourite Queens Visit got the best of a three-way battle to the line to land the Irish Stallion Farms EBF Fillies Maiden at Clonmel.Quick Glimpse had made a decent fist of things from the front and Hassaya made good ground on the outside, but Wayne Lordan burst between the two on Queens Visit and Tommy Stack's charge quickened nicely to score by three quarters of a length from Quick Glimpse.Quick Glimpse's trainer Dermot Weld had to settle for second again in the Fethard Maiden, as No Such Number came out second best to Donatis Comet.The pair were firmly in control of the contest over a furlong out, but Patrick Martin's 4-5 favourite just held sway by a neck at the line under Andrew Thornton.Castle Guest ran out a very easy winner of the Girls Night Out At Clonmel Races Handicap for trainer Michael Halford and jockey Shane Foley.In a dramatic upturn in fortunes, the 11-2 chance romped clear of the field, coming home four and a half lengths in front of the running-on Everything Zain.Another horse to enjoy a massive rise in fortunes was Florry Knox, who struck at the 10th time of asking in the Jossestown Handicap.Bursting out of a pack of runners at the furlong pole, Pat Flynn's 25-1 chance stormed clear in the closing stages to register a three and a quarter-length victory over The Fox Tulley under Michael Hussey.Crocus Bay ended a frustrating sequence of second-placed finishes when landing the BBQ Race Evening June 15th Maiden Hurdle for trainer Edward O'Grady and jockey Barry Geraghty.Roadtoabbeyfeale looked set to make a real fight of it close home, but the 7-4 favourite, who had put in two of his four straight seconds at this track, was not to be denied this time, winning by a length and a quarter.
