Review ballinrobe 14th Aug Walkabout was the star of the show once more at Ballinrobe as Gordon Elliott and Davy Russell teamed up to land the feature race on the card, the Burleigh Accountancy Handicap Hurdle. The 9-2 victor took this very race twelve months ago and was always to fore again, matching strides with From Eden in the early exchanges, before pressing on some way out under a determined Russell. The Irregular arrived on the scene to throw down his challenge approaching the final flight but was never able to lay a glove on Walkabout who continued to pour it on and eventually recorded a six length success.Pronounced proved best of a three-pronged Joseph O'Brien assault when coming out on top in the opening J.J Burke Peugeot 3-Y-O Maiden Hurdle.O'Brien's main hopes looked to come in the shape of hot-favourite Richard Strauss and Thomas O'malley but the former never looked like collecting while the latter had no answer when the 9-1 victor swept five lengths clear after jumping the final flight. The subsequent Maloney & Matthews Mares Maiden Hurdle proved an easier puzzle for punters to solve as Don't Let Go justified her cramped odds when readily brushing aside Aimee Kate by seven lengths. The 5-4 market leader was always handily paced and was still going great guns when skipping over the last before pulling nicely clear on the run-in.Favourite backers had very few anxious moments in the Bank Of Ireland Maiden Hurdler either as Fabulous Saga (4-9 fav) cruised home by twenty lengths. The Willie Mullins-trained gelding was immediately sent to the front by jockey Ruby Walsh and never saw another horse as he ran his rivals ragged.Youngnedofthehill (9-1) won the Supermac's Ballinrobe Handicap Hurdle by six lengths while the Broderick's Electrical Handicap Hurdle went the way of Snugsborough Benny (3-1).
