She might have been easy-to-back but Railway Zira (4s this morning out to 7s) again highlighted David Harry Kelly's talents as a trainer when coming off a 146 day break to take the concluding Follow Fairyhouse On Twitter Mares (Pro/Am) INH Flat Race under Pa King.
King engineered a nice split down the rail to launch his challenge to the favourite, Dantes Firth
Railway Zira was well on top in any case at the finish – accounting for the market-leader by all of ten lengths.
Kelly explained: "I thought coming here that she had a great chance. She just wasn't right in Galway (when last of seven in September).
"She's a mare we think an awful lot of and she'll improve again mentally.
"Whether we aim her at a better mares bumper or go hurdling – I'll have to talk to the owners.
"She has a bit of class and a good mare like that would get through any ground." (GC & EM)
