Zarinava (2s into 6/4) and Bangonform (could manage only fifth) were the ones for money in the J.B.C. Maiden Hurdle and it was the former who took over two out before striding away for a comprehensive eight length success in the hands of Robbie Power. Cheekyface finished in the runner-up berth with Lismakeery first time in the J P McManus silks, nine lengths further back in third.
Successful trainer Jessica Harrington's head man, Eamonn Leigh said afterwards: "She'll hopefully go for a winners of one around Christmas. We were a bit worried about the ground coming here today but she is getting stronger and is improving in her jumping all the time." (EM)
