Zanahiyr cut for Triumph, Morans bag first Graded win Owners Noel and Valerie Moran registered a first Graded winner at Fairyhouse today as Zanahiyr landed the Grade 3 Bar One Racing Price Boost Juvenile Hurdle for trainer Gordon Elliott and jockey Jack Kennedy. The Meath-based entrepreneurs became leading racehorse owners following the sale of their Prepaid Financial Services last November, which netted the pair up to €266 million, and today were rewarded with a first high-profile win as Zanahiyr routed his four opponents in an impressive win. The son of Nathaniel stretched clear of his rivals in the home straight and at the line held Saint Sam easily by 14 lengths, win 34 lengths to third-placed Druid's Altar. Afterwards trainer Elliott stated “we thought he was nice at home, he did it well in Ballinrobe and I thought he came on a lot from the race. “I thought it was a good performance. Jack said he travelled and jumped. He did it all very easily. “He’s a big horse and is going to get stronger. He’s not just a juvenile and could be a nice horse for those good staying Flat races as well. “He’ll probably want another run before the Triumph so he could go to Leopardstown at Christmas or February. We’ll try and keep him and (stablemate) Quilixios apart as long as we can. “That’s a very important win for Noel and Valerie, they are big investors in the game." Paddy Power later cut Zanahiry to 8/1, from 25s, for the Triumph Hurdle at Cheltenham next March. Quotes from Alan Magee
