In the Sligo opener three to one favourite Perfect Woman had perhaps just taken the initiative when the fall of Jesmond Lodge at the last, left her with the Irish Stallion Farms E.B.F. (Mares) Beginners Chase fairly much wrapped up.
Winner of a point-to-point in May 2014, at the beginning of her career, and making her debut over racecourse fences today, Perfect Woman was following up on a Clonmel maiden hurdle win from earlier in the month.
Jesmond Lodge's departure (her rider Andrew Lynch, stood down - sore) left the Mick Winters-trained, and Mark Walsh-ridden victor to go on and defeat Queens Wild by two and a half lengths.
Winters reflected: "I'd say she is a perfect ride for a jockey as she is always balanced and meets a fence on a stride. I think she probably would have won (if Jesmond Lodge had stood up) as she keeps galloping.
"I ran the other mare as well as there (Kara Loca 5th) are not too many opportunities."
Winning owner John Madden is from Ennis.
