Winter opened her account at the third attempt when justifying 7/4 favouritism in the Irish Stallion Farms EBF Fillies Maiden at Dundalk.
The daughter of Galileo overcame a poor draw (11 of 12), and travelled strongly under Wayne Lordan to challenge early in the straight.
The David Wachman-trained filly, third on her previous two starts at Naas and Gowran Park, found plenty when asked for her effort and kept on well down the centre of the track to score by a length and a quarter. Dreamy Gal backed on track from 12/1 into 13/2, stepped up nicely on her debut at the Galway Festival when keeping on well on the far rail to take the runner-up spot.
Kirk’s Dancer made a pleasing debut another length and a half away in third.
Lordan said, “She is a nice filly and did it nicely from a bad draw. I’d expect she’ll progress well from this.”
