Fairyhouse course-specialist Whatsavailable (10/1) gained an overdue third career success at that course today as the Mouse Morris-trained gelding landed the Fairyhouse Student Day Handicap Hurdle, running in first-time blinkers.

The seven-year-old's previous wins had previously come at the Meath course in 2022 and while winless since December 2022, today made all the running when comfortably scoring by five lengths from Notkeepinyagoing

A morning gamble on Workforadime (14s early, returned 3/1) went badly astray as the Charles Byrnes-trained mare lost her position from halfway and finished in rear,

Winning jockey Darragh O’Keeffe commented “that’s the third time I’ve won on him around here, he loves it here. He loves the track, loves a bit of nice ground and first-time blinkers really made him focus.

“He jumped well the whole way, picked up well and kept going.”
