Weseekherthere got off the mark over hurdles at the fifth time of asking when making all to see off a host of late challengers under Jack Kennedy in the Connolly's RED MILLS Irish EBF Auction Maiden Hurdle at Bellewstown.
The Gordon Elliott trained filly had shown promise on her initial runs over flights, before switching back to a bumper to win at Roscommon in June. After another decent effort when third over hurdles at Ballinrobe on her penultimate start, she was unlucky when hampered by a faller at Sligo last time.
On this occasion, there was to be no repeat, as Kennedy jumped out to make all. Knockwilliambridge kept tabs until the third last but soon had no more to offer and weakened out of contention quickly.
Kicking clear on the run to two out, Weseekherthere faced a strong challenge from both Aeros Luck and Our Girl Sal on the run to the final flight but she found plenty for pressure, keeping on strongly close home.
Gordon Elliott said: "The extra trip suited her and Jack said he was going to make plenty of use of her.
"I thought Jack gave her a great ride, he was exceptional on her. He probably learned about her the last day.
"She was getting the allowances and it was a great pot.
"We'll keep her going now."
