Poitin proved another well-backed winner at Dundalk tonight when landing the concluding ten furlong handicap on the card.

Keith Clarke 's charge was backed from 13/2 this morning and eventually went to post the 100/30 favourite.

Robbie Downey produced his mount with a strong run to lead just inside the final furlong and she kept on strongly in the closing stages to post a length-and-a-half victory over Locus Standi

"We took the hood off as she was falling asleep and was giving away her chance of winning. She stood too long in the stalls the last day,” revealed Clarke.

"We had a good draw for a change. She can run over different trips, and will go hurdling as she's schooling away. I think that's the thing with her to give her a bit of variety."
