The 11/10 favourite Ebeneezer Perry (steadily backed all morning from 7/2) won the Irish Stallion Farms EBF Median Auction Maiden in the hands of Colin Keane.

Keane tracked the leaders alongside his market rival Notre Belle Bete (6/4, from 8/11 this morning) and although the latter got first run in the straight, it was the David Spratt-owned son of Territories who found a bit more in the final furlong to score by half a length.

The winner had finished third in a 7f maiden at this venue last July on his only start as a 2-year-old.

Shane Lyons, assistant to winning trainer Ger Lyons, said: "He's a horse that we've always liked. We took our time with him and backed off him last year.

“We'll take baby steps with him now, go for a winners race and let him improve for experience.

“He fought back well there, showed good resolution, and beat a well rated horse beside him. They pulled clear and it's everything you'd want to see out of a horse that you like.”
