The only four-year-old in the line-up, King Of The Bronx readily accounted for his 17 rivals in the Leisure Domes Ltd Marquee Hire Handicap Hurdle.

Well-supported from 12/1 into 4/1 joint-favouritism, the Gavin Cromwell-trained bay was registering a first win under National Hunt rules, with his previous success coming on the level, scoring at 200/1 in a claimer at Gowran when in the care of Nigel Slevin.

Prominent early before soon taken back to mid-division, he made smooth headway approaching three out and went second over the next.

Easing to the front approaching the final flight, he quickly settled matters under Shane Fitzgerald and was value for more than the winning margin of four and a quarter lengths.

The Paul O'Flynn-trained A Nod To Getaway (8/1) filled the runner-up spot under Gary Noonan, while The Dooner Citizen (12/1) and Queen Of Seduction (9/1) were third and fourth respectively.

Second on his last two starts, Cramers Valley was the other joint-favourite and he finished a disappointing eighth.

"I was probably there sooner than I liked, but I was just travelling going down to the second-last and had to commit. He did it very easily," Fitzgerald reflected.

"I thought we went a nice gallop, he had a lovely tow the whole way around and loved that ground. He is relatively lightly-raced so we'll see what happens with him in the future."

STEWARDS REPORTS

The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Cramers Valley, trained by P.J. Rothwell, at the request of the Raceday Stewards and reported the animal to have a superficial wound on its lateral left fore cannon but to be otherwise post race normal.

S. O'Callaghan, rider of Fernhill Fling trained by P.J. Rothwell, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his leather snapped and he pulled up.
