The Dermot Weld trained Vital Plot won The Tipperary Supporters Club Joe Mac Novice Hurdle (Grade 3) owned by Stewart Weld, Austin Fanning, Thomas Dixon and Thomas Hughes with champion jockey Ruby Walsh doing the steering.
Dermot Weld said, "Ruby suits this horse very well and gives him great confidence. The ground today was heavier than he liked and he ran a bit freely and as a consequence his jumping was average by his standards. He has a lot of ability and we will step him up to Grade 1 company next time when we go for the Royal Bond at Fairyhouse."
