Emergent will be out to give Dermot Weld a second win in the Arthur Guinness European Breeders Fund Corrib Fillies Stakes, the main supporting event on day four at the Galway Festival.
The Galway Hurdle will be the focus of most attention, but this Listed heat, which was introduced in 2012, is a nice prize with a total prize fund of 60,000 euros up for grabs.
Emergent represents Weld, who won the race with Yellow Rosebud in 2013, with the filly having finished third in a 1,000 Guineas trial at Leopardstown back in May before finishing eighth behind prolific winner Creggs Pipes in a Killarney Listed race last time.
Top-rated runner in the eight-strong field is Mothers Finest who will be making her debut for Adrian Keatley after being sold out of Karl Burke's yard for 60,000 guineas earlier this month.
A handful of previous winners feature in the Hop House 13 Handicap with Brian Ellison's hat-trick seeking Dream Walker heading the weights while Kennady shoulders top weight in the Guinness FOALS Handicap.
Gordon Elliott fields two runners in the Guinness Novice Hurdle as both Delegate and Carrig Cathal seek a third win on the bounce for their trainer.
Willie Mullins' Bel Sas will have his supporters after winning but six and a half lengths on his hurdling debut while Charles Byrnes' Black Warrior has won his last two starts. Marinero represents Gigginstown House Stud in the opening Guinness Dublin Porter Beginners Chase, which also features the likes of Elliott's Taglietelle and Roll It Out
The closing Guinness West Indies Porter INH Flat Race is headed by Big Bad Brian who chased home Bel Sas last time but reverts to bumper company here.
