Wedding Vow delivers on her promise Wedding Vow took the featured Kilboy Estate Stakes at the Curragh in good style for Aidan and Joseph O'Brien at odds of 6/1. She was settled in sixth of the nine runners by Joseph O'Brien as English raider Talmada led. On turning into the home straight with three furlongs to race, she moved into fifth on the rail. At this stage O'Brien looked to have plenty of horse under him. She was switched out under two furlongs from home and although off the bridle came with a sustained challenge down the outside. In the final 150 yards she picked off Raydara and Brooch and forged on to win by two lengths. Brooch (11/4f) came in second, a short head in front of staying on Bocca Baciata (9/2) in third. "She had nice form earlier in the year but was too keen in Ascot over a mile-and-a-half with the blinkers on," said Joseph O'Brien. "Back in trip today she settled. There wasn't much pace on and in fairness to her she quickened up really good. "We could think about races in America for her or the Matron or something like that. A mile or a mile-and-a-quarter is probably her trip. "It's good to win a Group race with a pedigree like hers." The winner had been as big as 14/1 in the morning. Coming into this race she was the only maiden of the nine runners. She was twice Listed-race placed. Additional reporting by Gary Carson
