Ruby Walsh got the better of four finishers and a troublesome loose horse when winning the McElligott´s Landrover Handicap Chase on Clear Gold at Killarney today.
Five of the ten runners fell in the race, while the winner, who hit the front two out, was badly hampered by a wayward loose horse who veered across Walsh´s path, twice, on the run to the final fence. Walsh, being Walsh, got the better of the loose horse to eventually win by five and a half lengths.
Winning trainer Willie Mullins later reported "I´m delighted with that but we had a little luck on our side!"
He added "he is better on better ground and we´ll stick to handicapping but may avoid Galway as he does seem better on a flat course."etter on a flat course."
