Walk In The Brise lands Downpatrick finale Walk In The Brise improved on three second placed finishes to justify short odds in the concluding Irish Stallion Farms EBF Mares(Pro/Am) Flat Race at Downpatrick. The grey mare had done little wrong on her previous outings, just meeting one too good on each occasion. Patrick Mullins had the daughter of Walk In The Park in a prominent position from the outset and allowed her to stretch on into a clear lead down into the dip. The pair kicked on off the home turn and kept on strongly to hold the late thrust of the Gordon Elliott trained Country Queen. Patrick Mullins said: "The loose horse was in and out and the horse on our inside was hanging out so it wasn't quite as straightforward as I hoped. "She loved that good ground and the tight track, and travelled very well. She idled in front. I don't think she needed to improve to win. "She'll go jumping now and I imagine with her pedigree she can probably go out in trip as well. "She's from the family of Vroom Vroom Mag. She's not overly big but she's very athletic and I think on this ground she probably finishes stronger. One to look forward to." Additional reporting by Michael Graham
