Waittillitellyou leads home Cawley one-two Waittillitellyou (9/1) shot clear on the run-in to win the second split of the 80-102 Meath Farm Machinery Handicap Hurdle in Navan. JJ Slevin steered him into contention before two out and the pair got on the heels of Champ Royal at the last, with stablemate Native Gold right on the premises on the inner. The leader plunged at it and the Edward Cawley-trained duo swept by him on either side in the final furlong. One crack from Slevin, though, and Waittillitellyou motored clear in the final 150 yards to win more than handily by five and a half lengths. Cawley's Native Gold (40/1) gave him a one-two with Champ Royal third at 9/1. Thegoaheadman was a remote fourth at 50/1. Cawley said: “I thought I had a chance in the first (division, with Misty Hollow 10th and Two For The Road 11th) and after that I thought 'ah that's it, it's all gone'. “He ran well enough in Naas but he just stopped on him, it was his first run of the year. I was waiting to get soft ground as he had leg trouble going way back. “There was no easy ground since two months before Christmas and I was wondering if we'd ever get it. We were half thinking of letting him back into the field. “He's a great big horse, if he could just put him together. JJ said he jumps and then he'd go to take off on you, then he'd settle again. Hopefully he'll settle down the road. “He hasn't had that many runs because we had various problems. Coming here today I thought if he didn't run reasonably well we'd be looking for another job for him. “Hopefully he might get another one somewhere along the line.” Additional reporting by Gary Carson
