Wade makes winning start at Curragh Wade Giles came with a storming run in the final furlong to make a winning debut in the opening Sycamore Lodge Equine Hospital Maiden at the Curragh this evening. Keagan Latham got a good tune from the Azamour gelding to hit the lead in the closing stages and post a length-and-a-half success over Palm Ridge. "It takes a good horse to win here," said trainer Ger Lyons after greeting his charge. "He's a lovely horse and I pulled him out here last time because of the fast ground. Not to say he wouldn't have handled it but I wanted to give him a nice introduction. "To win is a bonus as you never know what you could bump into here. Eugene (McDermott) is a wonderful client and I think I've won with everything he's sent me. "This lad has a big future hopefully."
