WILLIAMS CAUTIOUS OVER TEETON FUTURE

Venetia Williams remains cautious on the chances of Teeton Mill's return to the track after injury.

The 1998 King George VI Chase winner slipped a tendon off his hock when attempting to win the Tote Cheltenham Gold Cup and apart from taking part in the pre-race parade of former winners prior to last week's Kempton showpiece has not been seen on a racecourse.

The Hereford trainer said: "He's cantering quietly at the moment but there's a long way to go yet before we know whether or not he'll come back.

"The operation came with no guarantees and it was possible it might not have gone as well as it has, so we must be pleased with that. But there is a long way to go."
