Vinny a Royal Bond possible

Cousin Vinny could make his eagerly awaited hurdling debut at Fairyhouse on Sunday in the Bar One Racing Royal Bond Novice Hurdle.

The Willie Mullins-trained five-year-old gelding became the first horse to complete the big Cheltenham/Punchestown Festival Bumper double this year, extending his unbeaten run to three with a runaway ten length success at the Co. Kildare venue in April.

'Cousin Vinny is going well and I'm pleased with the way he's schooled. I will leave him and Hurricane Fly in the Royal Bond at the five day stage and then see what the rest of the entries look like. But I'm in no hurry to run him as it's still early in the season,' said Mullins.

French-import Hurricane Fly created a favourable impression when readily landing a maiden hurdle at Punchestown in May on his only outing for new connections.
