Vinnie too strong for rivals Supreme Vinnie landed the odds in good style in the opener at Kilbeggan when running out a wide-margin winner under Rachael Blackmore. The well-backed 4/7 favourite (evens this morning) fought it out from the second last with Dove Mountain and went on before the last. Denise O'Shea's charge galloped on strongly in the closing stages to post a 12-length winning margin. The winner was not scoring out of turn, having been placed four times previously over timber. “I have to pay tribute to his breeder Padraig O’Donovan who only passed away two months ago,” said O'Shea. “This was the first horse in my yard, and he’s a very special horse to me. He’s been left to the three lads in the syndicate. “He’s been unlucky a few times and has always been there or thereabouts. Rachael rides most of mine, and she’s good and does what she’s told.” It was Rachael Blackmore's 20th winner and her claim is set to be reduced to 5lb. (Quotes by Alan Magee)
