Upsie looked an another smart French recruit for Willie Mullins when running out a cosy winner of the opening maiden hurdle at Naas this afternoon.
The five-year-old was unbeaten in two starts on the Flat in France before being bought by JP McManus.
She was a hotpot for her jumping debut here (4/6 into 4/7f) and tracked the leaders throughout under Tony McCoy.
There was a hairy moment three out as Aerlite Supreme jumped across her and nearly put her through the wing.
McCoy held on to his mount in the straight before angling out to lead approaching the last. She wasn't too smart at the final flight but showed a nice turn of foot on the run-in to settle matters.
McCoy didn't need to ask her too many questions as she put three-and-three-quarter lengths between herself and Aerlite Supreme.
“She looks a good mare and we'll find a nice novice for her somewhere,” said Mullins.
“She did that well there against geldings and she could take them on again.”
