United Nations (11/2) was bustled along to lead in the early stages of the concluding seven furlong maiden for debutants and kept on well up the straight to see off his seven rivals.

The full-brother to Listed winners Christmas and Black Sea knuckled down well when pressed two furlongs out by Paris Peacock (8/1), who was bidding to give Jessica Harrington a four-timer, and pulled out a bit more in the closings stages to see off that one’s challenge by a length and a quarter.

The 10/3 favourite Herring Island finished another three quarters of a length away in third.

It was a double for Aidan O’Brien and Seamie Heffernan after second race dead-heater Leinster House

“He’s a lovely horse,” said Heffernan.

“His head went down and he hit the line good. He just might have a nice future.

“When a Galileo can win at seven furlongs it’s a good sign.”
