On her second outing for the Henry de Bromhead yard Une Lavandiere struck at odds of 14/1 in the New Year’s Day Early Bird Tickets At tramoreraces.ie Mares Handicap Hurdle.
The following race celebrates the achievements of de Bromhead’s father Harry.
If that wasn’t enough reason to call Une Lavandiere’s win appropriate, the fact that the Camphor Syndicate own her surely was, as that grouping includes some of those involved at the County Waterford track.
Twice a winner when with Noel Meade, Une Lavandiere here made all for Rachael Blackmore, and she ended up comfortably accounting for Isabel’s Gold by fifteen lengths.
“It was a brilliant ride from Rachael. She went out and set a really good pace and it was what we hoped she would do," said de Bromhead.
“I’m delighted for the lads who have leased her from the breeder and it was on our local track.
“She can mix it between hurdles and fences and Rachael said she loved the track. We’ll see if there is an option here on New Years Day.”
At the request of the Stewards, Gavin Peter Brouder, rider of Moyode Lady trained by J.A. Nash, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount did not handle todays going.
