A few trainer have managed to get the better of Willie Mullins in bumpers in the last ten days or so but normal service was resumed when 5/6 favourite Uncle Pat took the Toals Bookmakers INH Flat Race by three-parts of a length.
A brother to Adamantly Chosen and three-parts brother to Kylecrue, the five-year-old made all and kept on well to fend off the sustained challenge of fellow newcomer Stagecoach Mary who didn't help herself by hanging left off the final bend.
Winning rider Patrick Mullins said: "I think he was quite green in front. I think he was always doing enough.
"Those Well Chosens are always very laid-back and I think they keep their best for the racecourse. They do their best under pressure.
"Myself and the second horse, I don't remember pulling up that far down the track afterwards.
"It is good ground and he is a horse that will stay further.
"We will probably go over hurdles with him."
