Twomey now has the Tetrarch in mind for progressive Currawood The Paddy Twomey-trained Currawood followed-up on his breakthrough success at Dundalk last month, as he easily accounted for his five rivals in the Irish Stallion Farms EBF Median Auction Race. Upped in trip to a mile for the first time, the 95-rated bay was sent off a 9/4 chance in the colours of owner Glyn Davies. Settled in third by Billy Lee, the successful Acclamation colt made smooth headway on the outer with over two furlongs to race. Edging to the front a furlong and a half from home, he was soon pushed along to increase his advantage and he ultimately had five and a half lengths to spare at the line. Returned the even money favourite, Naas winner Rowdy Yeats filled the runner-up spot under Colin Keane, while Green Triangle (5/1) was just a neck away in third. "I was hoping he would come and do something like that. I hadn't factored in soft ground but it is what it is, and this race was in the programme for him," Twomey commented. "He had the form in the book, his two-year-old form is good and I think he has matured a lot from two to three. He was just ready to start when he won in Dundalk and he has trained well since then. "He has run five times now, has won his last two starts and is a solid horse. He takes racing well and we might look at the Tetrarch Stakes in a couple of weeks next."
