Turbine and Killian Leonard (far) beats Time Stands Still © Photo Healy Racing
Denis Hogan produced Turbine in fine fettle to land a nice pot in the Matchbook Straight Seven Handicap on his return to action at Cork this evening.
The six-year-old was last seen finishing well beaten over hurdles at Wexford last October but was supported today from 16/1 into 8/1 in the €26,000 contest.
In the driving rain the Cape Cross gelding got the better of Time Stands Still close home to record a hard fought neck success.
It was a little bit of history for the Cape Cross gelding as he became the first winner over the new straight seven-furlong track at the Mallow venue.
Trainer Denis Hogan was riding at Downpatrick so missed the winner.
