Treble for in-form Elliott The in-form Gordon Elliott completed a near 30/1 treble at Punchestown as Un Beau Matin justified odds-on favouritism in the Panoramic Restaurant Raceday Hospitality Beginners Chase. The trio of winners, all with different jockeys following the earlier success of Lord Scoundrel (Bryan Cooper) and Taglietelle (Paul Carberry), means the Co. Meath handler has now chalked up 14 winners in the past 20 days. However it was far from plain sailing on his chasing debut for the 4/5 favourite as Kevin Sexton’s mount made a bad mistake early on at the third fence. Sizing Solution took over the pace-setting duties from that point, and the pair had the 2m4f event between them from a long way out. The grey son of Sagamix was driven to the front on the run-in, and kept on well to score by nearly four lengths as the pair finished clear. Elliott said, “It's a good day. It's the start of the season proper and hopefully they keep coming like that. Kevin gave him a good ride. He was flat out the whole way but he won which is great." Sexton said, "My intention was to make it but he was a bit brave at the second last with a circuit to run (third fence). To be fair after that mistake he was very good and got his eye in." (GC & AM)
