Wayne Lordan got his season off to the perfect start as he completed a treble at the Curragh in the last race of the day, the Irish Stallion Farms EBF Maiden for 3yo’s only, aboard the David Wachman (recording a double) trained Amira's Prince
The son of Teofilo ran once last season as a 2yo where he finished a decent fifth of nineteen behind Imperial Monarch over the course and distance last September.
Sent off at 14/1 this afternoon the brown colt soon took up the lead after they broke from the stalls and stayed on well under pressure from over a furlong out winning easily by three and a quarter lengths.
The Dermot Weld trained newcomer Speaking Of Which finished an encouraging second under Pat Smullen at 4/1 while Violet Lashes for Jessica Harrington and Fran Berry was a further four and a half lengths back in third.
The 2/1 favourite Unanimous for Aidan and Joseph O’Brien put in a very disappointing performance finishing a well beaten seventh.
The winner was purchased by his owner Mohammed Kazem Al-Ansari at the Tattersalls October Yearling Sales in 2010 for a price of 150,000 Guineas and is a half-brother to stablemate Hen Night who has won three included the Listed Platinum Stakes at Cork in August of 2010.
Winning trainer David Wachman said afterwards: "He will run in Stakes races now and a step up in trip will help him.
"We hadn’t intended to make the running but Wayne said that he was raw and green and just pricked his ears. He should improve."
