Treacy times it to perfection Bonifacio benefitted from patient riding tactics by Tommy Treacy when returning to form in the 80-102 rated two miles and three furlongs handicap hurdle at Cork. Sorted set a good pace here but was a spent force early in the straight as Tear Drops (9/1) surged to the front and looked sure to score. However Treacy timed his run to perfection on the 7/1 co favourite challenging at the by-passed final hurdle, due to the earlier fatal fall of Shaciara, and quickened up nicely to score by four and a quarter lengths. Back On The Road (11/1) was another six and a half lengths back in third, with The Pott Reidy (8/1) in fourth. A delighted Treacy said, “I felt they were going plenty quick enough in front and my fella stayed on very well. He handled the ground but would prefer it even softer.” Alan Magee
