Tranquil Lady completed a double for Joseph O'Brien and Shane Crosse, as she ran out a comfortable winner of the Irish EBF Median Sires Series Fillies Maiden.
Eighth on debut at Gowran last month, the Australia chestnut was clearly expected to come on for that run, going off a 10/3 chance from early shows of 6/1.
Settled behind the leaders on the outer, she took closer order in second approaching the straight. Ridden to challenge from the furlong pole, the Teme Valley owned victor got to the front inside the final 150 yards and kept on well, coming home three-and-a-quarter lengths to the good. Past Time (10/3), who led for much of the contest, had to settle for second under Leigh Roche, while Grizabella (10/1) was another length-and-a-quarter back in third. Serafina who was sent off the 9/4 favourite from early shows of 6/1, finished a disappointing eighth under Colin Keane for Dermot Weld.
Brendan Powell, assistant trainer to Joseph O'Brien, said: "This was what we were half-expecting first time but from the draw there she got very wide and made up a lot of ground quickly and got tired.
"Shane said today she was very green. He thought for a minute she wouldn't get there but once she got to the other horse she picked up and had a good look around in front. All she can do is improve again for it.
"She gave weight away, won with her ears pricked and you couldn't ask for any more.
"She is State Of Rest's sister and it lovely for those owners and no doubt with her pedigree, you'd be trying to get black-type along the line."
