Jockey Paul Townend recorded a double at Kilbeggan today, completing the brace on the Tom McCourt trained Blaze Trailer in the Irish Stallion Farms EBF Handicap Chase.
Townend produced the son of Indian Danehill to lead at the final fence, eventually staying on well for a comfortable five and a half lengths win.
Afterwards McCourt stated “Blaze Trailer has been consistent but was finding getting his head in front difficult – I thought he would win here the last day but didn’t seem to go through with his effort. Hopefully he’ll come back here for the Midlands National next.”
