Genesi showed herself to be a tough sort when battling off all challengers in the F.B.D. Insurance Handicap under Chris Hayes at Listowel.
The third placed Faoileanda and eventual runner-up Dazzle Dancer looked like they might prevail at stages but Genesi pulled out enough to win by three parts of a length and three lengths.
Winning owner Hayley O'Connor, the public relations lady for Ladbrokes, said of the Joanna Morgan-trained 12/1 shot: "I'm absolutely delighted, I couldn't be happier. Fair play to Joanna and her daughter Katie as she has been a tough filly to train. I told everyone to back her and luckily everyone got on (16s this morning, returned a 12).
"My dad is from Dingle so I'd say he has shouted the house down back in Dublin. The tacky dead ground probably suited Genesi as she stays very well."
Meanwhile Chris Hayes said: "She travelled real well. She is not ungenuine but you have to ask her. I really got stuck into her about a furlong and a half out and she found for me. She responded brilliantly."
