Tote Guarantee has successful first outing at BoyleSports Irish Grand National Tote Guarantee, which has been rolling out on Irish racecourses since late March, made its first appearance at the BoyleSports Irish Grand National last week and offered exceptional value for racegoers betting with the Tote. Tote Guarantee is an enhancement to the dividend which ensures the Tote Win price will always match the industry Starting Price (SP) or exceed it if the pool price is bigger. On the 92nd anniversary of the Tote’s launch at Fairyhouse, the Tote Win pay out on winner of the BoyleSports Irish Grand National, Lord Lariat, paid €42.30 with the Tote, against an SP of 40/1. The biggest overpay of the day was on the first race with the Tote paying €27 on Ideal Pal against an SP of 16/1. Across the whole racecard at Fairyhouse, customers were 17% better off when backing winners with the Tote, compared to SP. Tote Win prices were higher than industry SP on six of Easter Monday’s eight races, with the Tote Guarantee ensuring the Win price matched SP on the remaining two races. The Tote also had a notable dividend at Cork on Easter Monday with €136.80 paid against the SP of 50/1 on Garcon Doux in the second race. Tote Guarantee which has been launched to a positive reception by customers is expected to prove very popular amongst racegoers at next week’s Punchestown Festival where the Tote will be the Official Betting Partner on Saturday, April 30. Ross Kierans, General Manager of Tote Ireland, said: “We were delighted to see the return to full crowds at the Fairyhouse Easter Festival deliver oncourse Tote betting to pre-pandemic levels. This was clearly helped by the introduction of extra value with Tote Guarantee ensuring a notable uptake in our Win pools across the whole racecard. To be able to offer all Tote customers SP or better at the BoyleSports Irish Grand National meeting is a very significant step for the Tote. We expect Tote Guarantee to be equally popular when it makes it’s Punchestown Festival debut next week.” Historically, the Irish Grand National is a significant date for the Tote as it was the fixture at which the Tote was launched oncourse in 1930.
